Dis-ease

We encounter toxins everyday through processed foods, polluted air, products, public transportation, and so on. Toxins are one of the leading causes of most diseases or as Dr. Sebi would put it, dis-ease. The dis-ease we experience from these toxins can leave us feeling lethargic, moody, sick, depressed, fatigued, weak etc. It will have you operating at a low frequency.

I’ve experienced toxicity in my body, mind, and spirit from unhealthy foods, alcohol, toxic habits and even toxic people. I now can almost immediately feel when I need to detox. I’ve been detoxing almost every month for the last two years and I’ve seen much improvement in my health and well being.

Many people detox for various health reasons; to eliminate impurities from their body. Additionally, detoxing can also help your mind regain clarity and give you the extra boost you may need to get shit done. After all, there is such a thing as the gut and brain connection. Your gut and brain connection is created through neurotransmitters that send signals from your gut to your brain, which will have a direct effect on your body. According to psychologicalscience.org, “the brain-gut axis suggests that the microbes in our digestive system indeed have a measurable role in our brain function and structure, influencing mood, emotion, and behavior along with other important aspects of our personalities and our mental and physical health.”

As a creative entrepreneur I’m always looking for ways to improve my productivity and focus, and ridding my body of toxins is one of them. So, when you’ve reached a point of procrastination and don’t have the motivation or energy to be productive, consider doing a detox for a few days.

There are many ways to detox; herbal teas, citrus fruits, liquid cleanses, water cleanses etc. The benefits of detoxing include but is not limited to:

  • Increased energy
  • Improved Mood
  • Elimination of Toxins
  • Healthy digestion
  • Clear Skin
  • Healthy bowels
  • Mental Clarity and Focus
  • Encourages healthy lifestyle changes

Detoxing is meant to help rejuvenate and renew. It is not a fad or diet. You don’t have to starve yourself. Replace a meal with a detox juice or smoothie. Cut out sugars or alcohol for a period of time. Drink a gallon of water a day for a week and add a few lemons, limes or cucumber slices and mint leaves. Detoxing doesn’t have to be hard. You can choose which way works best for you. Whether you do it for a day or ten days, if you do it right, you’ll feel the difference.

Do your research first.

Use your resources, create a personalized detox and always consult with your doctor before making any major health changes.
